Guided Trips to British Columbia

Wildlife photographic tour of Vancouver Island British Columbia. 6th-17th June 2015.


With the moderate climate, beautiful scenery and plentiful wildlife its no wonder why Vancouver Island  has been rated as one of the best places in the world to photograph Killer Whales (orcas),  Humpback Whales, Minkie Whales,  Grizzly Bears, Black Bears,Dall’s and Harbour porpoise, Pacific White Sided Dolphins, Sea Lions, Seals and Bald Eagles. and an endless amount of other marine Wildlife in its natural habitat.

Enjoy the majesty of the coastal mountains as we explore the spectacular Great Bear Rainforest to find grizzly bears and black Bears in the summer as the snows melts, both black and grizzly bears emerge from their hibernation dens on the mountain slopes to forage on the shore line and sedges.


Every tour is a unique & original experience, Nature is forever changing and unveils a movement and rhythm that is captivating.

This tour is designed to give the best possible opportunities to photography as many of the rare and unique species of Vancouver Island as possible, using only the very best guides that are transport Canada approved and insured as well as holding the whale watching and bear safe certificates


Itinerary


Day One.

Direct flights to Vancouver from most UK airports arriving in the early afternoon in time to relax and enjoy the ferry crossing to Victoria, with an Overnight stay in Victoria.


Day Two.

An early morning and evening boat tour in seach of the resident pod of Orca's, the guides have the highest success rate on Vancouver Island and overnight stay in Victoria.


Day Three.

An early morning boat tour in search of the resident pod of Orca's, followed by a relaxing drive and over night stay in Campbell river.


Day Four.

A fully guided wildlife photography day on the water with adventure quest and over night stay in Campbell river.


Day Five.

An early morning tour with Adventure quest before driving the short journey to Telegraphy cove and over night in Telegraphy cove.


Day Six.

A full ten hour trip to the Great bear rainforest to photography Grizzly bears with www.tiderip.com

These trips include a two hour crossing to the rainforest on a larger boat and then transfer to smaller skiff boats to gain access to the estuaries and get closer to the bears, during the crossing if any marine widlife or whales are spotted the boat with stop to give an oppertunty to photography these species on route.

I will get a private skiff for my group for the three days if i have six photographers on the tour.

Overnight in Telegraph Cove.

*Late May to mid June is the mating season with lots of interesting interaction. This is our best month for seeing grizzly bears. The big boars chase the not-too-interested females, displacing other bears along the beach.Certainly this is our favourite time of the viewing season*.


Day Seven.

A full ten hour trip with www.tiderip.com to the Great bear rainforest to photography Grizzly bears.


Day Eight.

A full ten hour trip to the Great bear rainforest to photography Grizzly bears WITH www.tiderip.com and then a short drive to Campbell river.


Day Nine.

A relaxing day travelling the island coastal road to Nanaimo a ferry crossing and arriving in Vancouver, over night at a Vancouver Airport hotel which has sky train access to all parts of the city.


Day Ten.

A full day and evening to enjoy Vancouver City.

Or be guided for an evening in cityscapes by an award winning photographer based in Vancouver, (not included in the price)


Day Eleven.

An evening direct flight back to the UK arriving on the morning of the 17th.


Trip Cost. £2,900.00


If you would like to join me on this trip all that is required is that we book your flights for these dates and a £300.00 non refundable deposit, final payment is not required until April next year.

All accommodation is based on a hotel/motel twin room basis, with a single room supplement.

All wildlife guides and fees

Having travelled to British Columbia more than foury times over the years this trip is designed to give the best wildlife photographic oppertunities possible as we will cover different areas of the Island, if we have reports of bad weather or poor wildlife sightings we will change the daily tour plan to take this into account.
